Catholic High School Entrance/Scholarship Exam Preparation

HSPT Course Students

Eighth grade students planning to attend an archdiocesan or private catholic high school are required to take scholarship and/or entrance tests. Most schools in our area administer the HSPT exam, created by the Scholastic Testing Service. The test dates begin in late October and continue through early December. Advanced preparation for these tests can help to increase a child’s scores, build self-confidence and eliminate test anxiety. The course will cover: general test taking skills, specific information for the HSPT exam format, math skills, reading comprehension skills, language skills and a significant amount of vocabulary. After receiving their books, students will complete a full length HSPT at home which will be used to gauge improvement throughout the course.  The course consists of eight ninety minute class sessions, the first of which is a Student informational meeting where course books will be distributed and necessary information presented.  All hand-outs and a workbook will be provided. Students should come prepared with a highlighter, pen and pencil.

COURSE FEE: $355  - At this time, ALL classes are being offered virtually, materials will be available for pick up at our office, the week prior to the class start date.

Cancellation Policy

Since our teachers set their schedules well in advance, we require a minimum of 8 hours notice to cancel a private session.  Less than 8 hour notice will require a charge of one half of the rate of the appointment.  If a student cannot make a group session such as an SAT class, we do our best to provide an opportunity for the student to make up a missed session with another group.  However, if there are no available group options, private make up sessions for missed classes will be provided at our regular hourly rate.  There are no refunds for missed classes.  To cancel please contact the teacher through email or phone (if provided) or send a message through our Contact Us page.
