Amy Interrante is a reading specialist with Catapult Learning in the Philadelphia area. I have been a literacy teacher for the past seven years. I taught 1st grade for 3 years and then 4th grade for another 3 years. Last year, I received my Master’s in Education and a reading specialist degree. I was able to work as a reading specialist at Catapult Learning this year. I have always wanted to be a reading specialist. Teaching literacy has been a passion of mine for a while now.
I truly believe reading is the foundation of all subjects. Without it, we would not be able to succeed in any other subject. It starts with teaching the basic phonic skills. I have 4 years of experience teaching Wilson Foundations, which is a highly ranked phonics program.
Also, I have been a tutor for the last 3 years now. I believe teaching literacy in small groups or one on one really contributes to a child’s success in reading. It also helps them build confidence in their reading ability to bring into the classroom.
I am very excited to get started and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me!
